Cedric - An Icon at the Biltmore

Hey Ya'll Beaucephus Here!

FINALLY! I can use my given name in the right southern context.....  So my folks went to the Biltmore Estate as I mentioned in a previous post and met a jolly old chap named Cedric; a one-and-a-half year-old St. Bernard owned by Rick and Lisa Conard.  Rick is the VP of Operations for the Biltmore and from what I hear he and his wife were some of the nicest folks around.  Nothing quite like authentic southern hospitality. :)  Mom and Dad had a nice chat with Cedric and his family and learned a great deal about the grounds.  Rick and Lisa's Cedric is named after George Vanderbilt's most prolific St. Bernard "Cedric".  The Vanderbilt family enjoyed animals and had five St. Bernards; Cedric his wife and three puppies that had free reign over much of the house during the late 1800's.  While visiting the Biltmore Estate you will see countless pictures, a statue and a restaurant named in Cedric's honor.

For more information regarding the Biltmore Estate please visit their website at: www.biltmore.com

Here are a sample of some of the photos my folks took during their visit.  Wish I could have made the trip!

Lots of Licks!
