Lake Tazzle Hazzle Take Two!

Looking forward to a long weekend coming up at Lucy's lake house.  I hear my cousin loves flying off of the dock these days......hope daddy can get some great action shots to share on the blog, maybe some video and stills for the viewers.

In short we had a nice visit this weekend as Lucy, Lisa, and Ryan made it down from Cbus for a visit.  Always enjoy the eating antics that go on.  I have never seen so much food consumed by two grown men in my life as I did this weekend.  Pizza, wings, doughnuts, Bill Clinton's, Mommy's famous zucchini bread and even some adult beverages.......  Gotta love Uncle Ryan and Daddy together, what a riot!

Off to bead, watch for some lake fun in a few days!

Bachelor Pad!

Well, Mom is out of town for the night visiting her bestee in Indy so Dad and I are stuck at home with nothing to do other than eat pizza as well as other junk.....It is amazing how you can take good home cooking for granted.

So moral of the story is enjoy some down time with Pop and pine away for Mommies return.  Maybe a walk tonight, maybe not.  I may just spend the entire day in the bed since the rules of the house are mysteriously missing at the moment.  I bet Dad gives me something extra special for my dinner tonight. :)

Men, it is what we do......misbehave, sit around, and scratch!

Cedric - An Icon at the Biltmore

Hey Ya'll Beaucephus Here!

FINALLY! I can use my given name in the right southern context.....  So my folks went to the Biltmore Estate as I mentioned in a previous post and met a jolly old chap named Cedric; a one-and-a-half year-old St. Bernard owned by Rick and Lisa Conard.  Rick is the VP of Operations for the Biltmore and from what I hear he and his wife were some of the nicest folks around.  Nothing quite like authentic southern hospitality. :)  Mom and Dad had a nice chat with Cedric and his family and learned a great deal about the grounds.  Rick and Lisa's Cedric is named after George Vanderbilt's most prolific St. Bernard "Cedric".  The Vanderbilt family enjoyed animals and had five St. Bernards; Cedric his wife and three puppies that had free reign over much of the house during the late 1800's.  While visiting the Biltmore Estate you will see countless pictures, a statue and a restaurant named in Cedric's honor.

For more information regarding the Biltmore Estate please visit their website at: www.biltmore.com

Here are a sample of some of the photos my folks took during their visit.  Wish I could have made the trip!

Lots of Licks!

Walkin' in the AC - There is Nothin' Quite Like it!

Well my friends,

I am heading to Town and Country Shopping Center (one of my favorite places) for an early afternoon walk and to meet some fine people.  With the summer heat and humidity bearing down it is nice to be able to get some quality exercise and meet all the nice folks.  Don't tell Mom and Dad but the highlight is the small bag of popcorn that I get to partake in.  When you are approaching 50 you gotta find smarter ways to get your exercise on.....I mean break a sweat......WHY?  It is all about comfort and socialization my friends.

Gotta get outta bed and down to the car.......

Chat with ya later!

The Doggie Blog

So I am new to the game, the blogging game that is.  Sitting here sleeping the day away dreaming as to how I may maximize the benefit of my new found creative outlet.  Being that Mom and now Dad are in the education biz I am planning on spending a great deal of time working with the kids in the classroom.  I am thinking the variety of ways to interact with the students has endless potential not only for learning to occur but for a great deal of fun to take place.  While we are approaching the mid mark of summer break I am beginning my research and working to align the state teaching standards with my creative concepts.

So as a Golden quickly approaching what should be my retirement (approaching the big 50 in doggy years) I find myself at the dawn of a new and exciting career where I can truly make an impact on the lives of young people in the truest sense of the word.  From a Puppy that loved everything about the kids in the neighborhood and treasured just watching them get on and off the school bus while on my daily walks, thanks to technology and the blogosphere, I can engage them in a new and exciting way other than long drawn out stares and wet sloppy licks on the face and hands.

My friends, just when you think you have hit your peak and are on the down side of life, if you are looking for it a new chapter is right around the corner.

Bark at ya'll later,

Pups of Summer

A quick video of my cousins and I swimming at our favorite swimming hole.  A big shout out to my girl Lucy for finally jumping off the dock.  Word on the street is she is quite the high flyer now and leaps off the dock at will.  Stay tuned for some additional swimming videos as my canine family and I spend more time on the water.

Enjoy!

Day One

Well, I am sitting here at Grandma Giny's enjoying the great food and hospitality, trying to win over Ed's affection with little luck, with the only real joy in my day being the prospect of heading out to the backyard to chase rabbits.  I will tell ya, being a dog is pretty darn cool.  What to do for the rest of the day?  Guess I'll sleep a little.

Waiting on Mom and Dad to pick me up in a couple days.  The most exciting thing on my canine radar is an upcoming trip to Lake Tomahawk where I can get my swim on.  For sure the highlight of my summer.  Thanks Aunt Lisa for the invite.  You are for sure my favorite.  Enjoy seeing Uncle Ryan and Lucy too but must stay on guard as to the status of my hind quarters.....Lucy is always scheming.

Everyone have a fantastic rest of the week and I will check back soon!

Lots of Licks,

Beau
